In training Both Weight and Non-Weight Trainers will do many of the same exercises. and the Wide-grip chinning exercise is one, like grabbing hold of the lateral on a goal post and chinning off of it like when a kid.

This is a great exercise to get the v shape from, and will build fantastic arms and an unbelievable back. It develops the lat muscle located just under your armpit on your back, which will flare out your lats which also has the effect of making your waist look thinner in comparison to your lats and shoulder muscles.

This is one of the easiest muscles to develop and with back exercises of course, a fundamental exercise being chin ups, or pull-downs in the gym if you do not have access to something to chin up off like a lateral bar,

also training shoulders is important to get that wide look, along with some trap work as well, and this gives you that wide-shouldered, narrow waist look, a V shape! your training should focus on all muscle groups, but put a special emphasis on this muscle to help you create a great looking body, train everything but also train for the illusion as well, with exercises that bring out the bodybuilder style look, one example above to get the wide look to your physique.
